Another European country – France has opened its borders in response to the recent outbreak of the COVID Omicron virus in the UK. Even today, a handful of European countries adhere to mitigations and maintain different Covid regulations for individuals who have had vaccines and those who have not.
Here are the various Corona travel restrictions imposed in France, Greece, Italy and Spain:
France Covid Regulations:
- In France, anyone from the UK who has been completely vaccinated and doesn’t have a strong reason to go there can come and visit.
- The new rule says that in addition to a negative PCR or lateral flow test that is done within 24 hours of arriving, people over 12 will no longer have to separate their samples from those who are under 12.
- All children under the age of 12 who go on a trip with an adult who has both vaccines must follow the same rules, no matter what their age.
- Covid tests must be negative and people who haven’t had vaccines must stay in an isolated area for 10 days with police checks.
- In some cases, the French Consulate in London might be able to help you if you have a very good reason to travel.
- A booster shot is needed to get a French Covid card, which is called the “Passe Sanitaire.” All adults in France will need this shot to get the card. If they want to go to school, they must say that they have no symptoms of coronavirus and that they haven’t been in contact with someone who has the virus.
- The French government has it on its website. If you want a Passe Sanitaire, you can get it in as little as three days.
Italy Covid Regulations.
The “green pass” given by the United Kingdom as proof of coronavirus recovery and immunization is the same as the “green pass” in Italy, which is the same thing. In Italy, if you come from the UK and can show that you have had all of your recommended vaccines, you won’t have to stay inside when you get there.
Any traveler to Italy, regardless of whether or not they have been vaccinated, may be subject to random Covid testing when they arrive. In order to prove that they haven’t been completely vaccinated, people who haven’t been fully immunized have to fill out the passenger locator form and show that they haven’t had a negative PCR test or a negative lateral flow test done in the last 24 hours.
Spain Covid Regulations.
The only people who can go to Spain are those who have had all of their recommended vaccines. People who exercise outside must wear masks and form groups of no more than six people in order to meet. Beaches at level three sites may only be able to run at 50% capacity, which means that you’ll need to make an appointment. To make sure you know what to do and not do when you go on a trip, it is important to research your destination.
Greece Covid Regulations
In order to get into Greece, British citizens need to fill out a passenger location form and give the barcode for it to the Greek government. You’ll also need to show that you had a negative RT-PCR test done within 48 hours of your trip. British tourists who visit Greece may be asked to take a short test when they arrive, as well as antigen or PCR tests on days two and four of their stay.
